The “Sarah Bernhardt” Brasserie, at the heart of Paris, was sumptuously renovated in May 2019. The triumphant wall paintings of the artist Laurence Brussel illuminate the place and honor the two glittering pewter countertops that face each other, both embellished by the Edge Profile N°18. They remind us that the famous French actress was one of the first international stars, having toured on the five continents.
There is almost something American about this Edge Profile, something that is reminiscent of “The Great Gatsby”, the lost generation, the excessive luxury of the 1920s on the East Coast of the United States.
The N°18 sparkles above the mahogany bar of the « Bilboquet » in New York (20 E 60th St, New York, NY 10022, USA), the jet set restaurant in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The “magnifique carte » (all in French) offers an exquisite and delicate cuisine. The layout is timeless. The light strikes throughout thanks to the diamond figures of our pewter edge profile which attracts all sorts of stars. Le « Bilboquet » is one of Leonardo di Caprio’s favorites, Mick Jagger is often spotted there, so is Beyoncé, Robert De Niro is a regular, journalists from the major networks have made it their second office.
Philippe Delgrange, the owner of this institution, is a genius. He had one of our vintage comptoirs installed with the same Edge Profile at the center of his even more exclusive address, « Flemings », which is next to the famous Hermes flagship store, just off Central Park.
