This Edge Profile was given its number to reflect the year it was created: 1921. We purchased its mold in the early 1970s when one of our neighbors, one of the last Parisian bar manufacturers decided to liquidate its stock. In those years, Formica was in full blown fashion. The pewter countertop manufacturers of the Bastille area thought their trade was going to disappear. We made it through these difficult times, bounced back, and left the XIth arrondissement for Puteaux on the outskirts of Paris in 1995.
Curiously, this Edge Profile was not really marketed by its creator, during its first 50 years of existence. Its “Roaring Twenties” style allows it nevertheless to find a second youth, at the age of 100 years old! We have used it in our Bistro at Home activity where we fully refurbish old bars from the 1900-1930s for private individuals and clubs or tasting facilities for wine or champagne makers.
Its simple decorative pins fit most styles of wood paneling, especially the darker and more simple ones. Indeed, the pins magnificently enlighten a whole bar structure.
