Edge Profile N°16 (6,5 cm)

Chez Paulette - Comptoir bar en étain bordure
Le bistro Chez Paulette et son comptoir bar en étain bordure N°

Like the N°09, the Edge Profile N°16 brings you to the times, right after World War I, when pewter countertops became a “must” for every little Parisian bistro. Before that, they were reserved for more chic and opulent Brasseries.

The Edge Profile N°16 evokes the operetta « La Cocarde de Mimi-Pinson » which became a popular French film in 1957. There “Madame Louise” dreams of becoming a Bistro owner in Montmartre and sings the merits of a pewter countertop which flashes in the morning light.
« Un petit comptoir en étain
Qui brille aux rayons du matin » …

Taste the real thing at “Le Village” where everything is home made. The area, just off the “Sacré Coeur” is touristy, but the Bistrot is full of regulars whom all know each other. Everyone gathers around the “Comptoir” and high tables (with the same Edge Profile). It’s amazing how this pewter brings people together.

« Le Beaujolais d’Auteuil » will enable you to live the same experience. The round studs of the Edge Profile are a welcoming invitation to make friends at the bar. This convivial character explains perhaps why “the N°16” has travelled throughout France and beyond. In fact, you can find it in what were the Parisian favorite holiday destinations in the 1920s : « La Bisquine » in Honfleur and the brasserie « Le Central » in Trouville (158 boulevard Fernand Moureaux, 14360 Trouville), just opposite its famous casino.

Famous for its Spas and hydrotherapies since the 1920s, the city of Dax has many Art Deco vestiges, like « Le Palais » (9 Rue Saint-Pierre, 40100 Dax) which was completely refurbished in 2019. Its massive Comptoir proudly wears this subtle Edge Profile N°16.

Counters N°103 et N°95 were restored with the Edge Profile N°16.
